Linear Grain
Year 2024
Stripes & Wood began as a material contrast study — exploring how graphic textile patterns interact with solid structural timber.
The collection focuses on lounge seating and compact benches, pairing striped woven upholstery with precision-crafted ash and beech frames. The intention was to balance visual rhythm with structural clarity — allowing bold surface pattern to sit within disciplined joinery.
Each piece is built with controlled proportions and clean transitions between fabric and frame. The textile elements introduce movement, while the wood structure anchors the form.
This project investigates contrast without conflict — graphic versus natural, soft versus solid — resolved through proportion, alignment, and material restraint.
